Dear Julington Creek Families,
My name is Jeanette Murphy and I am honored to have been asked to serve as the new principal at Julington Creek Elementary School. When I met with the staff this morning, it immediately brought tears to my eyes. I was so warmly welcomed by so many familiar faces. These were the same teachers that taught my own children, the same staff that welcomed every parent each morning, and the same caring individuals that held our hands when we dropped off our kindergarten students for the first time.
Fourteen years ago, my husband and I decided to relocate to beautiful St. Johns County from Miami where I grew up. We immediately fell in love with this community and began raising kids. Both my children attended Julington Creek Elementary School until a recent move to a nearby neighborhood. JCE has been the center of our lives for many years from attending numerous holiday presentations, art shows, fundraising activities, book fairs, etc…. Our family calendar was always full with JCE events. I am so fortunate and humbled to have the opportunity to reunite with such a compassionate faculty and staff that truly love “our” children and with a community that I have very strong ties to.
As an educator, I have taught and have been a school administrator in both elementary and middle school levels for over 20 years. I have loved every single day and every experience. I am here to serve our families, teachers and most importantly our students. My promise to you is that I will continue to grow the strong values that JCE is known for, make the best decisions for our students, and maintain a high level of community involvement.
I am excited to be joining the Julington Creek family. I look forward to getting to know each one of you. Please do not hesitate to come by and say hello. I wish you a wonderful and restful summer.
