The school district <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/zoning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Attendance Zones Locator<\/em><\/a> will identify the correct school.<\/p><hr \/><p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>Registration for 2025-2026 School Year:<br \/><\/strong><br \/>2025 \u2013 26 School registration is online only.\u00a0 Please click the &#8220;Register My Student For School&#8221; button in the top right corner to begin the registration process.\u00a0 Please see the list of requirements for all children to begin school that is included later on this page.<\/p><hr \/><p><strong>Kindergarten Staggered Start<\/strong><\/p><p>Staggered Start provides an opportunity for the kindergarten teacher to work with a very small group of her students each day to teach rituals and routines and ensure students are comfortable with their environment before introducing them to the entire class.<\/p><p><em>Staggered start specifics will be posted soon.<\/em><\/p><hr \/><p><strong>Requirements for All Children to Begin School<\/strong><\/p><p><i><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>1.<strong> Grade Placement<\/strong> <em>(Florida State Statute 1003.21)<\/em><\/i><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p><ul><li><strong>Voluntary Pre-K: <\/strong>A child must be four years old on or before September 1st.<strong><br \/><\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Kindergarten:<\/strong> A child must be five years old on or before September 1st.<\/li><li><strong>First Grade:<\/strong> A child must be six years old on or before September 1st <strong>AND<\/strong> satisfy one of the following: a) Satisfactory completion of kindergarten in a Florida public school.<br \/>b) Satisfactory completion of kindergarten in a non-public school.<br \/>c) Previous attendance in an out-of-state school in which the student was admitted on the basis of age requirements established by the state of residency.<\/li><\/ul><p><b><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/b> 2.<b><strong> Proof of Residency<\/strong><\/b><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><i>\u00a0 Certain documents will be required to prove residency. Julington Creek Elementary will no longer attempt to interpret Court documents unless there is a restraining order preventing a parent from taking his\/her child. Both parents will have equal access, unless specifically prohibited in an official Court document, to their child and his\/her educational program.
